How it works
Rise Psychiatric Services exclusively provides virtual mental health care in the state of Michigan via video visits. We specialize in treating children, adolescents and adults for a wide range of psychiatric concerns, including evaluation and diagnosis, prescribing of psychotropic medication and individual counseling services.
We utilize a platform called Kareo Telemedicine for scheduling, visits, and billing. When you choose Rise, you will connect in your web browser or by downloading the free Kareo Telemedicine app, which is where you’ll meet with your provider—right from the comfort of your own home (or office or car!). Kareo Telemedicine works on all mobile devices and computers, allowing you to use it wherever you feel most comfortable. It is confidential, HIPPA-compliant, and easy to use. Payments are made through Kareo via Stripe at the time of service as well, so there are no bothersome follow-ups or multiple information sources to track.

psychiatric evaluations and COUNSELING INTAKES
Your clinical relationship with Rise begins with a psychiatric evaluation or counseling intake, depending on your current needs. Both are hour-long evaluations which include a thorough clinical assessment designed to build a plan of care.
We believe in building a strong foundation and excellent rapport to provide the best treatment possible. Our patients are sure to appreciate the warmth and genuine care given by our providers. At Rise, patients are not a diagnosis or a number. We believe in partnering with each one to create an individualized plan of care to empower, heal and foster hope.
Along with behavioral interventions, counseling and lifestyle modifications, the use of psychotropic medication may be recommended. If medication is prescribed, patients will be continually assessed and monitored with regular medication reviews. These are typically 20 minutes in length.
There is a large spectrum of beliefs and experiences involved with psychotropic medications. We hear patients say everything from "I've tried it all and nothing works," to "I don't like the side effects" to "I'm scared to try medications." Trialing of medication does not have to be a fear-inducing or hopeless process. We believe strongly in addressing our patients wherever they may be on this spectrum and making the experience as comfortable and patient-driven as possible. We will only suggest medication when we firmly believe it will be of true benefit. We highly value your trust in this process and will walk beside you every step of the way.
The role counseling plays in achieving balanced mental health is critically important to many of our patients. We welcome a partnership with therapists our patients may already have in order to provide the best integrated care possible. We also offer individualized therapy from our own excellent and highly skilled therapists.
We know for counseling to be effective a patient needs to not only be an open and willing participant, but must have a therapist who is an active partner in promoting true and lasting change. We believe in setting clearly defined goals, providing insight, and creating an empowering environment for personal awareness and growth. Our goal is self-trust and reliance, rather than fostering dependence on the therapist.
We are proud to offer faith-based approaches to care. With advanced training in ministry, counseling and inner healing, we are excited to offer Christian and Catholic Christian approaches to care for patients who would prefer this integration. We hope to expand our services in this regard, and are looking to offer Jewish counseling services soon.
